29/11/07: London Festival of Architecture - Bloomsbury Hub
A meeting between BIG, other interested organisations and New London Architecture was held at UCL on 22 Nov to initiate the exchange of ideas about how best to promote and set up exhibitions and activities for the Kings X, Bloomsbury, Fitzrovia and Covent Garden 'hub' of this major London festival which takes place between 20 June 20 and 20 July 2008. 20/11/07: Bloomsbury Traders form Regeneration & Marketing group for Bloomsbury Village.
Traders from Bloomsbury Village, the area south of the British Museum, have formed a Regeneration and Marketing Group to consider ways to implement improvements to the streetscape and encourage new business into the area, particularly quality Crafts manufacturers and suppliers.

02/10/07: Supplementary Business Rate to Contribute to Cost of CrossRail
Any thoughts about a Business Improvement District levy on business rates in Bloomsbury have been shelved even thought our feasibility study of Summer 2006 showed that 'something must be done' to improve the image of Bloomsbury as a destination for both business and leisure. Hoteliers in Bloomsbury are exploring ways to improve the marketing of the area and a second meeting of hoteliers and other interested stakeholders will be announced shortly by Bloomsbury Project Management LLP.

27/09/07: Dismay over proposed Borough Council Levy of a Supplementary Business Rate
Tuesday August 7, 2007 Guardian Unlimited Industry groups reacted with dismay today after a committee of MPs urged the government to allow councils to levy a supplementary business rate. The communities and local government committee said local authorities should be allowed to make local variations to the rates charged to businesses. The move would be a positive step towards financial devolution and would allow councils to take a stronger role in building the "distinctiveness" of their area, it was argued.
