BLOOMSBURY 1759 - Exploring the Birth of Bloomsbury
The Bloomsbury Association, in association with St Georges Bloomsbury, Situation Opera and historian Ian Foster, supported by the British Museum, The Bloomsbury Project (University College London), Camden Council and the traders of Bloomsbury Village bring you a series of events in January and February 2009 to highlight events that took place in 1759, that helped establish Bloomsbury one of London's most important cultural districts.
BLOOMSBURY 1759 - THE EXHIBITION
An exhibition exploring the life and times of Bloomsbury's best known residents - Sir Hans Sloane and G. F. Handel. Explore the buildings, community and people that the Bloomsbury we know today.

SIR HANS SLOANE: THE LIFE AND TIMES
A lecture and discussion on Sir Haas Sloane, whose collection became the foundation of The British Museum and who introduced milk chocolate to Britain. Hosted by HS biographer Ian Foster.

HANDEL'S MESSIAH
Situation Opera recreates the original Dublin premiere with an uncut and complete performance of Messiah. Conducted by Nick Newland and featuring some of London's most exciting young musicians - an evening of beautiful music.
Saturday 7th February 2009 at 5.30pm.
