About Marylebone Birdwatching Society
Marylebone Birdwatching Society is a Club based in Camden, North West London, attracting members and friends from all over London and beyond.
The "Marylebone" of the name comes from the fact that the Club started in 1981 as part of the Marylebone Institute of Adult Education. We have since had a number of venues around Swiss Cottage and Hampstead for our monthly Indoor Meetings. The current venue is Gospel Oak Methodist Church, Agincourt/Lisburne Roads NW3.
Our programme runs from September to June and includes
Coach outings to coast and countryside in South East England
Pick up points Parliament Hill Fields, Belsize Park,
Swiss Cottage and Baker Street
Local outings to reserves in and around London
Weekly walks on Hampstead Heath (all year round)
Monthly talks with slides on birds and other wildlife.
It's a friendly club. We're serious about watching birds but also enjoy other wildlife, scenery and one another's company. You are welcome to join us, whether you are an experienced ornithologist or just wanting to learn a little more about the birds around you. New and Non-members welcome to all events.
