31/08/10: Camden - Olympic London Greeters Project
As part of our preparations for 2012, we are developing the London Greeters’ Project, in partnership with the 5 Olympic Host boroughs. We are in the process of recruiting volunteers to be London Greeters. It is an exciting opportunity to meet and greet national and international visitors to Camden.
13/08/10: Campaign to Ban Leaf Blower Machines
The Bloomsbury Association calls for a total ban on powered leaf-blowers.
The maddening noise and pollution from these machines has become unbearable.
The protective gear the operatives have to wear should be enough to convince you that these machines and the damage they cause is bad for everyones health.
The contactors who use then are so embarrassed to be seen using them they are now appearing between 6am and 8am in the morning around Bloomsbury.
07/08/10: Heron visits Bloomsbury on 7.8.2010
Imagine our surprise when a heron landed near us in a Bloomsbury garden just off Gower Street on Saturday afternnon on 7 August 2010. Managed to get a few photographs, see:

09/07/10: Summer Singing Workshops at St Georges Bloomsbury
Vocality press release – Summer Singing workshops
Making singing fun and accessible to Londoners is Vocality, with two summer workshops, open to everyone. Their inclusive and friendly approach welcomes total beginners and «shower singers» without using sheet music. The variety of songs, from Pop to World cater for all tastes and the no auditions policy means that even the most timid member is welcome. People are astounded at how easily and quickly a group of strangers can come together to make beautiful music.

16/03/10: Seven Dials Special Policy Area (Licensing) extended to New Oxford Street and Great Russell Street
After over 2 years of working with Camden Council Licensing Team, Covent Garden Community Association, and Seven Dials Trust, Camden Council have agreed to extend the Seven Dials Special Policy Area northward to Great Russell Street and New Oxford Street. The new licensing policy comes into effect on 15 February 2010. This is community empowerment at work! See the map here:
