28/05/08: ARSON - Request for Information
ARSON Dear residents/businesses It has been brought to the attention of the Metropolitan Police Service that on numerous occasions over the last two or more years, a person or persons has been deliberately starting fires in and around SOUTHAMPTON PLACE & BLOOMSBURY SQUARE, this has mainly up to now centred around rubbish left out for collection.

18/04/08: Bloomsbury report for Jan - March
The Team maintains the hard work ethic on the Ward. A new PC has recently joined the team and our Community Panel continue to work well, with a new and enthusiastic Chair and Vice Chair having recently been appointed. The most recent meeting in March agreed to continue with the 3 priorities of Drugs around Warren Street, bike thefts around the universities/UCH and anti social brothels on the North of the Ward, with two new brothels being pointed out to Police currently causing a great nuisance to local residents. As always we continually tackle anti social and quality of life issues on the Ward, making Bloomsbury a safer and better place to live, work and visit.

09/04/08: Bloomsbury Partnership report
Bloomsbury SNT maintains the hard work ethic on the Ward, with a new PC recently joining the team. Our community panel continue to work well, with a new and enthusiastic panel chair and vice chair having recently been appointed.

14/02/08: Drugs search warrant - Bernard Mansions
At approximately 07:20 this morning (Thursday 14th February 2008), officers from the Bloomsbury Safer Neighbourhoods Team, with the assistance of Holborn and Covent Garden Safer Neighbourhoods Team, Special Constables and Camden's Payback Team, attended a residential premises in Bernard Mansions, Herbrand Street and executed a search warrant, issued under Section 8 of The Police and Criminal Evidence Act (search for evidence).

14/02/08: BLOOMSBURY SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD PANEL - CHAIRMAN’S REPORT 2006/7
The first 15 months of operation of the Bloomsbury Safer Neighbourhood Panel has been generally successful, with good attendance at all meetings, good interaction and discussion of priorities and strong support from other community groups – especially officers from Camden Council who have attended meetings to inform and present on issues that the Panel wanted to more fully understand – these included noise, licensing, St Mungo’s in Endel Street as well as other issues.

27/01/08: Hoteliers join Bloomsbury's Safer Neighbourhoods Network
Bloomsbury's 50 hotels have formed HotelWatch to better coordinate and improve the network of communications between business and our Safer Neighbourhoods Team. This new network was formed in Dec 2007 and is intended to exchange information specifically relating to hotel crime in Bloomsbury.

10/12/07: Operation presenCe update
Operation Christmas Presence has seen significant results in the first week of the operation, including 39 arrests, 41 people found in possession of alcohol within the Controlled Drinking Zone and hundreds of satisfactory stops.

30/11/07: Joint drugs operation against drug dealing on the ward
At approximately 09:30 on Tuesday 20th November 2007, officers from the Holborn and Covent Garden and Bloomsbury Safer Neighbourhoods Team and a rapid entry team, successfully executed a drugs search warrant at a flat in Mullen Towers, Mount Pleasant, WC1.

28/11/07: Safer Neighbourhoods On-Line Survey
An on-line Safer Neighbourhoods survey has just gone ‘live’; the survey will allow Londoners to identify issues of local concern (e.g. teenage drinking) and the precise geographical location of any issues identified.

28/11/07: Operation Christmas PresenCe
Camden Police is launching "Operation Christmas Presence" to reduce crime, the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour during the festive season; and at the same time, promote safety and enjoyment during celebrations.
