About Camden Children's Fund
Camden Children's Fund was set up in 2001 to work at stopping problems before they started for 5-13 year olds. It was recognised as making a real difference to the lives of the children, young people and families involved in the projects.
It was based on the kind of services proposed in the Green Paper 'Every Child Matters'. The Children Fund programme ended in March 2008. Concerted efforts to mainstream the learning and some services under new children's trust arrangements ensured that the following Projects continue:
Fusion, the Inclusive Play Project now managed in the Camden Play Service;
the Somali Supplementary School Project now managed within Camden Learning and School Effectiveness;
the Junior Youth Inclusion Project delivered by Castlehaven Community Association; and
Restorative Justice Family Group Conferences managed in Camden Youth Offending Service.
Toolkits, useful strategies and evaluation reports from the six years of the Children's Fund programme can still be accessed through this website.
