Discussion CASweb User Support: Why limit this service geographically?

I just would like to compliment CASweb and all the Boroughs that run such a fanstastic initiative. What a fantastic service!!! Well done!!

I have been researching for a while for a similar service for my own voluntary community group based in the borough of Haringey, and i was happy to find in the Your London site http://www.yourlondon.gov.uk/volcom/casweb.jsp about such a scheme for which we thought we were eligible first.

Unfortunately, i was disappointed to find out that due to "bureaucratic technicalities" which limit the eligibility to geographical areas, we were not eligible any more.  What a pity!!

We are too:
*a voluntary community group
*based and operates in London
*non-porfit

...so why the geographical limitations?

It seems to me that regardless of the actual nature of the different voluntary community groups in London, as volunteers we are all have the same objectives, trying to improve our communities and work for a better London.

Hope that it might serve as some food for thoughts for the CASweb administrators and decision makers of the scheme to consider also other groups.

Gianluca, you are correct in your comments. This service should not be limited geographically. The reason for this is historical - the CASweb site was set up by the London Central Partnership which involved the 5 London Boroughs that are currently included. However, as a result of the success of CASweb, there are new tools in development that plan to host Community and Voluntary Sector sites for all of London.
YourLondon.gov.uk will be the home of this new service.
